The Noise Measurement Procedures Manual was issued in July 2004 under regulation 25 of the Environmental Management and Pollution Control (Miscellaneous Noise) Regulations 2004. The Manual serves as a technical resource for regulatory officers and environmental consultants. Any measurement of noise or test of a noise source for the purposes of the Regulations must be made in accordance with the provisions of the Manual.

The main sections of the Manual are:

Amendment 1.1

In July 2005 The Director of Environmental Management amended several of the sections in Part E of the Manual in accordance with regulation 25(3) of the Miscellaneous Noise Regulations. The amendments are collectively known as Amendment 1.1.
