National Environment Protection Measures
The National Environment Protection Measures (NEPMs) are national statutory instruments that bind all Governments that are members of the National Environment Protection Council (NEPC).
The Council is formed under the National Environment Protection Council Act 1995
, which is mirror legislation of a Commonwealth Act of the same name. There is matching legislation in each State and Territory.
NEPC business is carried out during meetings of the Environment Protection and Heritage Ministers Council (EPHC). The EPHC
web site incorporates information on NEPC.
Current information on the NEPMs that have been made or are under development by the Council, may be obtained from the EPHC web site: www.ephc.gov.au/nepms
