Geomorphology of the South Eastern Region of Tasmania
This report was prepared as part of the Integrated South East Coastal Management Strategy. The study area includes the coastlines of the Tasman, Sorell and Clarence municipalities, from Cape Bernier around the coast as far as Cape Direction.
The first part of the report describes the methods used to collect the geomorphic data. The second part provides a brief description of the geological and geomorphic development. Part three provides information on geoconservation and geodiversity for the study area. Part four describes the geomorphic management issues and provides recommended management strategies.The impacts of sea level rise and climate change are included in this section.
Appendix 1 describes the GIS data set used for the study. Note that this document is an explanatory report to accompany a digital mapping dataset which is available through the Councils in the study area and Parks and Wildlife Service.
